Ziploc Big Bag for organization
Friday, January 8, 2010 10:30We all use Ziploc bags almost daily – probably most commonly in the kitchen. Ziploc bags can also be very useful in organizing the rest of the home too. They can be used to corral small pieces of a game or puzzle. Great for storing loose index cards in the office or back pack. Just when the possibilities of the versatile Ziploc seem endless, Ziploc comes out with the Ziploc Big Bag. I first discovered these a few months ago and can’t stop finding ways to use them – in my home and with my clients!
The Ziploc Big Bag is exactly that – a giant, durable, Ziploc bag. It even has a handle to make carrying it easier. Like all Ziploc bags this has the Double Zipper closure to ensure a secure seal. The plastic is heavy duty – this is no sandwich bag plastic. Unlike a rigid plastic tote bin, the bag can fit just about anywhere. This bag is built to withstand weight. The bottom of the bag is also pleated so the bag can expand to store bulky items. Appropriately the Big Bags are available in Large, X-Large and XX-Large. I guess Ziploc is trying to tell us these bags are not small!

These bags are ideal for blankets, comforters, and other bed linens. Often the zippered bags those come in when purchased can crack or tear easily and the Ziploc Big Bag would serve as a great replacement. The list of possibilities could go on and on…here are just a few:
- Sports equipment in the car or garage
- Sleeping bags
- Pillows
- Holiday decorations – Have you packed up all your Christmas decorations?
- Gift wrap – great for gift bags, bows or ribbons
- Ribbon, yarn, fabric or other sewing supplies
- Store your Emergency Supply Kit
- Out of season clothes
The Ziploc Big Bag shown, size X-Large (10 gallon size) come in a box of 4 for a suggested retail price of $5.99. That’s $1.50 per Big Bag. You can find these at Kmart, Target, Wal-Mart or Home Depot. The Big Bags make storing and transporting your things easier. If you know how you will use the Ziploc Big Bag the $1.50 per a bag is a good investment.

Great idea! I also recently discovered those space saver bags that you can vacuum the air out of–same concept but the really do help reduce storage space for items like clothes, linens, etc. Also a great way to organize and store baby clothes!
