On Saturday, February 20, 2010 the National Association of Professional Organizers (NAPO) Baltimore Chapter and IKEA Baltimore joined together to present 4 free organizational workshops to celebrate NAPO’s Get Organized (GO) month. Shoppers could attend a workshop on either organizing their closet/home or their office space. Both workshops were presented at 11 and 11:30am. Presentations were brief allowing customers to take a break from shopping learn something new and continue on with their Saturday plans.
Some shoppers were pleasantly surprised when they arrived on Saturday morning. While others came to IKEA solely for the free workshops after learning about it on facebook.com or on the IKEA radio in stores prior to the event. Susan von Suhrke of Timely Transitions presented on Home Organization while Barbara Boone, Certified Productive Environment Specialist, of Productivity Solutions presented the workshop on Office Organization. Both presenters had other NAPO Professional Organizers assisting and answering customer’s questions and organizational dilemmas. All workshops were well attended! IKEA even gave a free gift for attendees as they left IKEA…so the customer not only got great organizing advice from Professional Organizers but a free gift from IKEA. This event was promoted by IKEA online and through the IKEA radio in stores and by all members of the NAPO Baltimore Chapter through blogs, e-mails and websites. GO month was celebrate in organized style by NAPO members, IKEA and Baltimore residents!
