I’ve always said before and after pictures are a great tool to inspire and motivate a transformation. Whether that transformation is a new hair style, a bathroom remodel, new paint on a house, or reorganizing the pantry before and after pictures capture the transformation in a way no words ever could. Hence, a picture is worth a thousand words! Getting and staying organized is always on the top of lists when it comes to New Year’s resolutions, characteristics of successful people, efficiently run companies, etc. If getting organized is on your list, do not underestimate the power of visual transformations – before and after pictures.
Find before and after transformations online or in magazines. Create your own to inspire and motivate yourself for future organizing projects. Simply take a photo of your bedroom. Now, take 10 minutes - make your bed, put the half-dirty clothes that are sitting on the floor away, and clear off your nightstand so only the clock, lamp, tissue box and book you’re currently reading sit on top. Now, take another photo. This is your after photo. Print out both photos and display in the room.
Ask yourself, which photo makes you feel better? Which photo motivates you to tidy and organize other areas of your home? Which photo energizes you?
What are you waiting for? Enjoy this new found motivation and go organize the linen closet!
